The state of New Jersey, also known as the garden state, is located on the eastern coast of the USA and is bordered by New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The state has something for everyone whether they be families or individuals, introverts or extroverts, adults or children, New Jersey has it all. For families, New Jersey has a surplus of safe and friendly towns to live in like Cranford, Princeton, Summit, New Providence, and many others. Most of the towns within New Jersey have their own public school systems, as well as different private education options. After high school, Jersey also has many great in-state college options like Rutgers New Brunswick, Montclair State University, Princeton, and Rowan University which are all great options for varying majors. Education is a big part of many families’ decisions on whether or not to settle in a certain town, but many individuals without families don’t look into these factors. However there’s something for them too, like the abundance of surrounding beaches, the proximity to major cities like New York City or Philadelphia, or the different entertainment and activity options. Jersey has numerous beaches, seeing as it borders the Atlantic Ocean. For someone wanting a quiet reading day by the shore, beaches like Sandy Hook in Monmouth County, Lavallette in Ocean County, and Sunset Beach in Cape May County are all great options. Others seek out a more rambunctious, and lively experience at the beach, so locations like Jenkinson’s Boardwalk or Asbury Park Boardwalk and Beach might be better options. The state also has great dining options for food, but also for themes. Medieval Times in Lyndhurst New Jersey is a great example of one of Jersey’s greatest themed dining experiences. Customers eat like kings would during the Medieval era without forks, while being provided with the entertainment of jousting knights on shining horses within a castle-like setting. It’s great for special occasions like birthdays, or even just an exciting day out. There are truly so many great things here for everyone to enjoy.
New Jersey Businesses
Business in New Jersey is great because the people are constantly looking for new places to shop and dine. Every town within New Jersey has lots of small-owned businesses as well as large-scale franchises. The town of Ford is an example of one of the towns more heavily involved with local businesses rather than large ones like Target or Panera. The town has different shops and businesses like Vintage Vinyl Records, TribeDJs, Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant, as well as others. This is an example of a smaller town within the state, and it’s quiet towns like these that would make a great place for starting small and mellow shops. Neighboring towns like Metuchen or Edison might be better places for starting up a more lively business. In Edison for example, Menlo Park Mall attracts hundreds of shoppers for different activities like sampling food court options and clothes shopping. Atmospheres like this where people come for a fun day of shopping and laughing would be a better place to start a business if that’s the kind of energy you’re looking to attract. New Jersey has tons of places to shop and spend the day out, but if you want to get out of the state, New York City or Philadelphia are close options, especially if you live closer to the northern sector of New Jersey like in Fords. Fords is also close to major highways like the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Route 1, and Route 9. Not only is Fords and its neighboring towns close to major cities, but they’re also within reasonable proximity to the major roads needed to get there. Many businesses like Clean Air Company have taken advantage of these opportunities in New Jersey and are thriving.
North, Central, and South New Jersey Communities
The community within New Jersey is split between the extroverts who party at the state’s popular beaches, and the introverts who prefer quiet walks through town parks. The extroverts may prefer activities at Asbury Park Boardwalk and Beach. It has a beautiful beach with vast waters, great for swimming and boogie boarding. Then, there’s the boardwalk, which is lined with cafes, shops, and arcades. Afternoons here are a blast, but they’re not for everyone. Someone who prefers a quieter scene may prefer an afternoon hiking through New Jersey’s South Mountain Reservation. The trails here are gorgeous and serene and it’s always exciting to see the different animals that reside within the reservation. The community within the entire state is difficult to capture because it’s so diverse, but there is something for everyone.
No matter what type of activities you prefer, there are kind and interesting people to meet everywhere because that’s the kind of people that Jersey breeds. This makes it great for anyone who’s just moved here because there’s a ton of different people to meet through the different communities within Jersey. If you’re someone who enjoys a more relaxed afternoon, then you might just meet a friend bird watching at a nature reservation or getting lost in a book at one of the numerous libraries within the state. Sometimes meeting people this way is still very difficult, but New Jersey also has a lot of other opportunities to meet new people. Trying a painting class at Cranford’s ArteVino Studio might lead you to meet another artistic friend. You could also try signing up for an acting class at Millburn’s Papermill Playhouse, where they have classes for kids, teenagers, college students, and adults. There are numerous different opportunities to meet new people and have fun because that’s the type of place that New Jersey is. If all the different types of people here could agree on one thing, it would be that you are never bored.
The Future of NJ
Multiple different counties within New Jersey are all doing their own thing by creating new businesses, internal improvements, and a bunch of different projects. Woodbridge Township in Union County, for example, just had their mayor announce the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Jacob’s Landing, which they described as an “affordable residential rental community on the site of the former Woodbridge Gardens public housing complex,” according to the town’s official website. This is a great example of all the individual things going on within each community inside the state. In its entirety, New Jersey is working on getting its citizens fully vaccinated to fight the current pandemic to try and return to normalcy, which they’re doing a pretty good job of.
