The safety disconnect feature joins the upper and lower hose assembly for vehicle exhaust systems. This coupling device has a tension adjustment enabling the lower hose to disconnect from the upper hose at a preset tension adjustment. Commonly used in the emergency service industry to ensure vehicles with exhaust systems connected leave quarters unhindered.
Maintenance facilities use them in the event technicians forget to remove the exhaust system from the tailpipe.
